Boldmere made it 3 wins out of 3 games to put themselves top of the table and pushed luckless Rangers to one from bottom. Last night i decided to stay local and decided to stay local so i visited “The Mikes” who appear to have made a great start to the season.
I paid the £5 admission on the gate but didn’t bother with a program the conditions were very good for football dry and bright. The game kicked off at 7.33pm and contested Boldmere in the unusual orange strip instead of their usual white strip and Rangers in light blue.
The game started at a frenetic pace with Stuart Capaldi making a run off the right hand wing before smashing the ball into the far corner. The Mikes however , were shocked when Rangers appeared to wake from their deep slumber to equalize , a breakaway goal ended with a scuffed shot that deflected off a Boldmere boot.
Both teams played some rather sloppy football at times , especially Rangers who were constantly criticized by their own manager as they began to fade under the stronger teams possession. Boldmere found themselves 2-1 up just before half time , Andy Lewis launching a volley strike that smashed high into the net.
Boldmere continued to press second half and Rangers struggled to contain them but managed to hold on with their keeper making some decent saves but that was to be it for the goals .Ellesmere’s number 10 was very vocal and he summed it up well when he shouted to his bench ” This squad has absolutely no personality at all” , a bit harsh though really on his teammates but there is definitely work to be done.
Admission-£5 Attendance- Officially 63 but i counted 50
