Game 20- Causeway United 2 Continental Star 1 22/9/2013

This week I decided to visit a game on a sunday rather than a Saturday,  choosing to visit The Grove for this FA Vase clash between these two Midland Alliance sides.
Causeway are flying high in the Alliance this season, in contrast to Star who are  bottom of the league.

The game kicked off at 3pm,Causeway in the all blue strip and Star in a red kit.
The weather was lovely and sunny as we have our last bit of nice weather for the year.

Star had the better of the opening 20 minutes, but failed to have a shot on target. Causeway took the lead on 27 minutes from a corner ,the number 7 rising highest to head the ball into the bottom corner.

Causeway doubled their advantage on 43 minutes,  from a free kick the ball struck the base of the post and bouncing straight back to Causeway who crossed the ball back in for the number 10 Blake-Walker to head home.

In the second half , Star pushed to get back in the game and scored a debatable goal in the 72nd minute ,when the ball was played deep into the box and Robinson crashed into the keeper but the ball somehow bounced off Robinson and in. Jittery Causeway held on though to progress in the Vase.
