Game 52 – Walsall 4 Sheffield United 1 14/1/2017

Walsall gave one of their best performance’s in recent memory to beat league leaders Sheffield United. I had been given a colleagues season ticky while he had a knee operation, So has told me to get a couple of games out of it. Walsall are 14th in League One and had a maas I’ve task ahead .

I sat in the Tile Choice lower behind the goal.  Their was a one minute applause for the passing of Graham Taylor before kick off. Sheffield in the green hit the bar early on but fell behind on 5 minutes when Amadou Bakayoko was played in on the left and he slotted beyond the keeper. They equalized on 10 minutes though from a free kick pumped into the box , O’Connel nodding home.

On 58 minutes,Jason McCarthy restored Walsall’s lead though with a low strike . Sheffield looked a very poor side in truth and fell further behind as Joe Edwards entered the box and rolled a lazy shot past a stationary Simon Moore on 67 minutes . The final goal came from the spot as Otzumer put the ball to the keepers left.

So a great performance by the Saddlers , dealt with anything thrown at them but I would like to mention the shocking referee and linesman close to useless, the Referee booked the wrong Walsall player after a foul and the a Sheffield defender tipped a Walsall shot over the bar with his hand
Attendance – 6,899
