Game 66 – Aston Villa U18 1 Manchester City U18 2 22/2/2017

With nothing else to do on a drizzly Wednesday night, I headed out to meet Leighavfc down at Villa Park. On arrival, a Jamaican bloke on the gate said there are spaces over there but me and 6 other cars couldn’t find one so I ended up parking on Trinity Road.

This was the FA Youth Cup quarter final, and Villa took a surprise lead in the 8 minute through a plopping Johan Abdoul header from a corner. After that it was all down hill .

Villa needed keeper Johansson on full alert when he tipped a low shot around the post before City hit the bar twice. City equalized on 12 minutes,  Jason Sancho with a low shot into the bottom left. Man City deservedly won it and saved us from extra time on 88.minutes when Matthew Smiths shot cannoned off unlucky Jake Walker on the line .

I’m not a Villa fan in anyway shape or form but this 10 men behind the ball crap isn’t working for you . Villa scored a goal and tried to defend it for their lives.

Admission – £4 ouch   Attendance – 964
