I finally hit the 100 mark for the first time ever, and I must say I am very happy to have reached it. My 100th game was st the Bescot for the Midland League Challenge Cup Final between promoted Rangers and Redditch.
The game was delayed 15 minutes due to the world war 2 bomb that had been detonated in Aston. Redditch in the blue were a much more physical side and I think Rangers looked worried almost scared at what was in front of them early on.
Redditch were ahead on 7 minutes, a run down the right, a low cross was easily finished by Billy Garvey from 7 yards. Page did find a way back into it in fortuitous circumstances, Dean Morris’s free kick off the wing, plunged deep into the box and eluded the grasp of Borough’s flapping keeper. With the minutes drawing to a end, both sides went for it but it was Dan Carter’s finish into the bottom corner on 90 minutes that settled it sparking a crazy dance along the touchline by Rangers manager Jason Lanns.
