Two late goals sealed a comfortable win for Birmingham. This game in Midlands Division one survived while others fell to the rain due to the recently installed 3g pitch at the Vale stadium.
Other recent changes since my last visit has been a school built outside the ground and I overheard a official say that WHG, the housing group now own the ground so not sure what the story is there.
As for the game certainly not a classic, but for Leighavfc and myself it was a welcome game in what was a washout. The star player was Charlotte Fisher who’s hatrick saved the day . Birmingham in the red strip, took the lead on 20 minutes from a corner Fisher met it with a low half volley into the corner.
The weather became very cold and then a shower rained down as we took shelter in the closed bar. Khalsa drew level in lucky circumstances, again from a corner that flew straight in off the far post. Fisher put Birmingham ahead from the penalty spot shooting straight down the middle. She got her last goal shooting into the far bottom right corner from the edge of box.
