Table toppers Walsall Wood did Bill Shaw proud I’m a second half demolition of Lichfield. In the first game since Wood Stalwart Bills death a few days ago, there was a minutes silence that was almost fully observed except for a old prat who was gassing very loudly before realising to shut up about 20 seconds in.
The wood in the red, had banged in 100 goals before tonight but fell behind when City swept the ball beyond the keeper in a one on one after 6 minutes. It was 1 1 on 16 minutes with the goal of the game, a screamer from 18 yards. Wood hit the post after that from a header.
In the second half it was one way traffic, Wood took the lead straight from a corner before belting in another dipping drive from the edge of the box. It was 4-1, squeezing in a shot at the near post. The fifth came from running into the right of the box before firing into the far bottom corner. The final wood goal came from a free kick that brought a fine save out of City’s keeper but the loose ball was bundled in. City got a final word by heading in from a corner.
