Toothless Paget were given a harsh footballing lesson in their first home game of the season. With it been a work night and all, I meandered down to Coles Lane to see this Midland Division 1 fixture. Uttoxeter in the blue, had lost their opening game and looked to kick on.
They were ahead on 5 minutes when Curley poked the ball beyond the keeper from a low ball off the left wing. They were 2 0 up on 36 minutes when Johno Anderton fired into the far bottom corner.
It got worse as Paget’s Taylor Byrne was shown a straight red for a two footed lunge. After the break, Anderton got his second cutting in from the left before shooting hard and low. He got his hattrick from a superb low volley from 18 yards. Paget could only muster one effort and low ball across the box and Dave Yonwin tapped in.
