Bartestree demolished the home side in an interesting affair yesterday afternoon. After Rushall, I once again headed over to Solihull for the second time in a fortnight.
This game in the Midland Division 3, saw home side Shush take on 4th placed Herefordshire side Bartestree. The game took place at The Glades, which is marketed as a football centre, just behind the clubhouse is another club Hampton who play in the league above. The glades has a small stand and a rail around the pitch.
Bartestree in the black and white, registered their first shot after about 20 seconds, but despite hammering Shush it took them until the 28th minute to break the deadlock, a cross come shot going in off the Base of the post. It was 2-0, on 33 minutes when they had a free kick just outside the box, they drilled it low and hard through the wall.
FC then went down to 10 men as their defender got a second yellow. The second half was much of the same as Bartestree made it three, a ball from the right, was controlled before being shot and blocked by the keeper but the loose ball was stuffed in. The fourth was similar to the third, cutting in from the left , shooting and despite making a good save , the loose ball was put in at the second attempt. The final goal came from running down the right chipping the ball to the back post and being forced over the line.
All in all, a good game at a decent but basic facility, had a chat after the game with two Shush players after the game including the guy who was sent off, they asked me where I’d travelled from and that they have no fitness.
