Villa were held by Middlesbrough last night at the Banks stadium. With a few days off I forced myself out for this under 23 clash at Walsall. Villa were fifth in the league at the start of play while Middlesbrough were 7th.
The game in truth was fairly poor, but the North East side always looked better than their hosts in most departments. I tried my hardest to get decent pictures but these were the best I could get I’m afraid.
The first 15 minutes were fairly quiet until Middlesbrough were awarded a penalty, Amadou Sylla took the spot kick. Villa keeper Sinisalo kept out a further three attempts in the first half.
Boro’s star man was Djed Spence while Villas was probably Isaiah Bazeley-Graham . Villa substitute Cameron Archer eventually drew them level running up the right and burying the ball into the far top corner. On the way out , Villa manager Dean Smith almost cut me up but stopped before he walked straight into Me, cheers Dean.
