Alcester dropped vital points in the title race against a bright Coventrians side. My plan was to go to Coalville but after being late out of work that went out the window so headed to the Colliery Sports ground in Keresley.
It’s a basic little venue, two pitches one fully railed the other part railed. The rest of the place is scrub land. Not ideal weather as Storm Hannah left us battered by strong winds and made conditions difficult.
Coventrians who were 7th and in the blue and white, we’re a far stronger outfit and we’re ahead on 22 minutes, a free kick from the left found Nathan Mcgarrity on his own who shot across the keeper into the net. Alcester barely registered a chance on target the whole first half .
Coventrians were less effectual in the second half but continued to keep attacking burst eventually succumbed in the 82nd minute from a corner , Lewis Marston rose highest to nod home.
