The sad decline of Pelsall Villa

This is just a little update really of former Midland league side Pelsall Villa. I first began watching them when I moved back to Birmingham in about 2012 perhaps even 2011. They were always strugglers that went through hundreds of players. They were run on a shoestring with the help of volunteers like Mark Bentley and Bill Shaw, but even Bill had enough of them eventually before leaving for Walsall Wood.

The club pulled out of the league in 2017 without a word after successive relegations eventually finishing bottom of division 2. With the Bush ground vacant, unwanted visitors came to the ground and set numerous fires and the pub closed down.

On Saturday, driving by the Bush Ground I took the photos, the stand has disappeared, the shop is burned out and the pitch is overgrown. A sad demise of such a long standing and historic club that looks to never return.
