A completely crap day in terms of groundhopping. My plan was to hit Pinxton in their FA Vase game. My daughter then announced she wanted to come with me but as usual my Mrs messed around and brought her back home far to late for me to get there.
In the end, we went to Castle Vale for this Les James trophy game. We arrived just before kick off, and there were about 6 people in the ground. This game saw two struggling sides in the Midland Division 3 take on each other. Vale in the yellow struck first heading home from a corner on 19 minutes. Both sides hit the woodwork but Vale always had the slight edge.
Coventrians scored on around 65 minutes before Vale won the game 4-3 on penalties, their stopper going down low to save a final timid penalty.
