Game 29 – Aston Villa U23 4 Sunderland 0 6/1/20

My 226th ground Bodymoor Heath, reminds me of why I don’t do these premier league sideshows to often. I turned up to be told at the kiosk I hadn’t pre booked so couldn’t come in, ridiculous rule, fortunately a kind fella gave me his spare ticket. Then I was frisked and once in, I realised there was no one standing. I asked the stewards if I could stand so I did for the entire first half . Just into the second half, I was then harassed by another steward who told me I had to sit, told them I had already asked to stand again he told me to sit. I basically thought fu*k this and as I went to turn another one made a tug on my arm, the original one then came at me again and said are you going to sit, I just said no I’m going. Joke of a club, horrible overzealous staff and terrible ticketing system. Give me non league any day.Anyway, the ground itself is alright, it’s Aston Villas train ground near the belfry. This pitch itself has a decent stand. Midtable Villa hosted a woeful Sunderland side who are bottom with one point from 13 games.Villa were ahead after 30 seconds Indiana Vassilev nodding home a right wing cross. They were 2-0 up after 4 minutes, Vassilev opening his body up to shoot across the keeper. It was 3 0 on 14 minutes, Cameron Archers low finish in a one on one. The final goal came from Jacob Ramsey on 35 minutes, with a low strike from 10 yards… but yeah I won’t be back.
